Our Nurses

Gloria  — Technician Supervisor

Gloria joined the BVC team in 2018. She started working in the veterinary field in 2008, and loved it since day one. She finds being able to utilize her experience and skills to make a difference in the lives and health of pets very fulfilling. She strives to provide the best possible care for pets every day, and is excited to bring her talents to BVC.
During her time off work, Gloria is a Licensed Zumba fitness instructor, and spends time at the gym, teaching dance workout routines. She also spends a lot of her free time petsitting as she does not currently have any pets of her own; petsitting allows her to envelop those pets into her family. Gloria loves dancing, trying new varieties of foods and watching Redskins games.

Shannon — Veterinary Assistant

Shannon joined the BVC team in 2017. Her love of animals was inspired by her mother, who worked at a race track. Shannon started working at the race track with her, and at age 16, was working as an equine veterinary assistant.

Shannon loves working at BVC, and considers it her “home away from home.” She is looking forward to expanding her skillset to include working as a rehab assistant here at BVC.

When she is not at work, Shannon loves spending time with her daughter and her kitty, Gynxie, and is furthering her education by taking online courses in the field of psychology.

Manny — Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Manny joined the BVC team in 2018. He started working in the veterinary field as a kennel assistant, and has continued to grow and expand in the field.

He believes that there are things we can learn and cherish from our furry friends, like their loyalty, unconditional love, and authentic behavior. One of the things he really enjoys about his job is having the opportunity to help animals without expecting anything in return.

Manny enjoys taking his dogs (or, as he prefers to refer to them, his daughters) hiking or for late night walks in DC.
